September: President's Letter Poulsbo Sons of Norway Lodge 2-044
As we enter
September, we pause to honor the memory of His Majesty King Harald V of
Norway, who passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at the age of 89.
Throughout his 35-year reign, King Harald served Norway with dignity,
compassion, and an unwavering commitment to his people, earning the admiration
of generations and the affectionate title, “The People’s King.” On
behalf of the Poulsbo Lodge, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Queen
Sonja, Princess Märtha Louise, His Majesty King Haakon, and the entire
Royal Family during this time of mourning. Ære være Kong Harald Vs minne (May
the memory of King Harald V be honored).
As we return
from our summer break and prepare for the final quarter of 2026, we look
forward to gathering again for our Board Meeting on September 1 and Lodge
Meeting on September 8. We will warmly welcome new members into our Lodge
family and recognize our scholarship recipient, Lodge Queen Charlotte Tamm.
September also
brings several significant observances, including National Teddy Bear Day
(September 9), Patriot Day (September 11) marking the 25th
anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and Constitution Day (September 17)
