The Adventurers’ Club – November 3rd  Veterans in the Wild   CALLING ON ALL MILITARY VETS!                                       Brandon Harding, Executive Director of Veterans In The Wild, will be speaking at our November 3 Adventurers’ Club meeting. How fitting that it’s a week before Veteran’s Day. Veterans In The Wild’s mission is ‘empowering veterans through nature by providing transformative wilderness expeditions that promote healing, resilience, and community. Through veterans wilderness trips, we aim to support veterans in their transition to civilian life, fostering physical and mental well-being, personal growth, and a sense of belonging’.    Please help me spread the word through our many Sons of Norway members.  You know a veteran that’s not a member? No problem. Bring him or her as your guest. Let’s make this a special event for the vet...

The Adventurers’ Club – October 7 Social & Potluck The Adventurers’ Club – October 7 Social & Potluck The  Adventurers’ Club  is an outdoor-focused group exclusively for members of Poulsbo Sons of Norway. We’re still a young group — just about nine months old — but we’ve already been having a great time getting outdoors and connecting with fellow members. Our goal is simple:  share ideas, get outside, and create memorable experiences together.  Activities can include day hikes, backpacking, mountain biking, camping, cross country skiing, and just about anything else that gets us outdoors. With so many new lodge members joining us in September, we’re making our  October 7 meeting a social and potluck ....

I hope you were able to join us for our August 5th meeting. We were fortunate to host a spokesman and volunteer from the Evergreen Mountain Bike Association (EMBA), who shared great information about the Port Gamble bike park—including lessons, youth camps, trail-maintenance opportunities, and more. Our next Adventurers’ Club meeting is on September 2 and will feature our very own Joanne Graves and her sister. Both are active with Washington Trails Association (WTA.org), the premier resource for hikers and backpackers. Joanne will be freshly back from Norway, where she’ll have hiked the St. Olaf Pilgrim Trail, and we’re hoping she’ll share a bit about that experience as well. If you enjoy backpacking, camping, or exploring backcountry forest roads, we have two upcoming outings you might love. August 28–30: A 3-day / 2-night backpacking trip in the Stevens Pass area. The trail is moderate and only 3 miles, making it accessible for most skill levels. September : A 1–2 night off-ro...
